RJA #2b: Research Topic
Classroom Management
I chose to research classroom management because I am currently working on my teaching license and I believe every teacher needs to have basic management skills when it comes to controlling their classroom. I wanted to research a topic that will benefit me in the future and of the educational topics I wanted to write about, I found classroom management to be the most useful. I believe without being able to manage a classroom it is nearly impossible to for students to learn.
When it comes to classroom management, I know the most important thing is organization. It is important to have an effective practice in the classroom. I believe for a teacher to have the most effective practice in the classroom he or she must ensure who is in control. The way one goes about structuring their classroom is also important for them to be able to manage it.
There are many things I want to learn from my research on this topic. I want to know effective strategies for teachers when it comes to managing time, space, and student behavior. I hope to find teachers personal experiences and what works in these circumstances. I want to learn good instructional strategies. I want to learn how to teach without disruption. I also want to know effective strategies for classroom discipline.
